What is Motion Mockups

Updated 29 October 2026 · Live

Motion Mockups is a browser editor for animated device mockups. You drop in a screen recording of your app or website, and it plays on the screen of an iPhone, iPad, MacBook, display or TV inside a photographic scene, each with its own camera move. You arrange the scenes on a timeline and export an MP4.

Who it's for

Designers, developers, founders and marketers who need a short product clip for a launch post, a landing page, a portfolio or a pitch, and don't want to set up Blender or After Effects to get one.

How it works

  1. Pick scenes. Scenes come in collections, each a setting with its own light: Home (warm wood and soft light), Gallery (clean lines and pale light) and Rounds (sculptural forms and sunlight). There are 30 scenes across iPhone, iPad, MacBook, Display and TV, most of them 8 seconds long at 30 frames per second, with camera moves such as Push In, Side Pass, Orbit and Close Up.
  2. Add your recording. A video (MP4, MOV, WebM or MKV) or an image (PNG, JPEG, WebP or AVIF). It plays on the device's screen through every scene, and you can trim it, scale it and position it.
  3. Arrange the film. Scenes of the same device type sit on one timeline and share one continuous recording. There is no length or clip limit.
  4. Export. An H.264 MP4 in square (1:1), portrait (4:5), vertical (9:16), wide (16:9) or 4:3, at 1080 or 2160 pixels on the short edge, as one film or one file per scene. Or a still frame as PNG or JPEG.

What makes it different

The scenes are not generated by AI image or video models, and they are not 3D models posed against a backdrop. Each one is modelled, lit, animated and rendered in Blender by Krystof Jezek, the designer who makes Motion Mockups, with its light, materials and camera path baked in. The editor puts your recording on the device's screen frame by frame, following the scene's own camera, and encodes the video on your computer. The result looks filmed rather than generated. The trade-off is that you choose from directed camera moves rather than placing the camera yourself.

What it costs

Making is free, with no account: every scene, the whole editor and a 720p preview with a watermark. Exporting needs Pro: $35 a month, or $240 a year ($20 a month). Prices include tax, and checkout shows your local currency. Pro includes unlimited MP4 and still exports and every collection added later. Exports made while subscribed can be used commercially, for clients, ads, app stores and social media, with no credit needed, and stay yours after you cancel. See Pricing and the Licence.

Privacy

Decoding, compositing and encoding happen in your browser. With a free account, your project's edit (scenes, trims and settings) is saved so it follows you to another browser. With Pro, your projects' recordings are also kept privately in your account, so a project opens with its recording on any computer; they are deleted with the project or the account. See the Privacy policy.

What you need

A current browser. Chrome, Edge and Safari on a computer are recommended for export, and the editor checks that your browser can export before checkout, so you never pay for exports it can't make.
