Terms of service

Version 2026-10-29 · In force from 29 October 2026

In short: making mockups is free. Pro is a subscription, sold for us by Stripe through Link, that lets you export. It renews until you cancel; cancelling stops the next renewal and keeps Pro until the paid period ends. What you export while subscribed is yours to use commercially, forever. With Pro, your projects' recordings are stored privately in your account, so they open on any computer. They stay yours.

1. Who we are

Motion Mockups (“the service”) is made by Krystof Jezek, a sole trader registered in the Czech trade register, IČO 08424683, Pod altánem 2406/48, 100 00 Praha, Czech Republic (“we”, “us”). You can reach us at hello@motionmockups.com. These terms are between you and us. By creating an account, or by using the service, you agree to them.

Who does what. We make and provide the service and license it to you under these terms. Stripe, through its Link service, sells you the Pro subscription as merchant of record: it takes the payment, charges and remits tax, issues receipts and invoices, and handles card disputes, under Link's own terms. For a charge, a receipt or an invoice, go to Link; for everything else, including the refunds in section 6, write to us.

2. The service

Motion Mockups is an editor that runs in your browser. It places your screen recordings and images into animated device scenes and exports the result as video or stills. Your recordings and images are processed on your device; the service does not render them on a server. Your edits are kept in your browser's storage, which the browser may clear; they are a convenience, not a backup.

Recording storage (Pro). While you have Pro, the recording or image of each of your projects is uploaded to your account and stored privately, so the project opens with it on any computer you sign in on. One file can be up to 5 GB and an account can store up to 50 GB; a file over either limit stays only on your device, and the editor tells you so. A file is deleted when you remove it from its project or delete the project or your account, and 30 days after your Pro subscription ends. Files are stored with care, but recording storage is a way to carry your work between computers, not a backup or an archive: keep your original files.

Building, editing and previewing are free and need no account. The free preview carries a watermark. Exporting needs a Pro subscription and a browser that passes our export check.

3. Accounts

You must be at least 18 to create an account or buy Pro; if we learn that an account belongs to someone younger, we close it and refund what was paid for it. You sign in with Google or with a one-time code sent to your email. An account is for one person, so don't share its sign-in. Keep access to that email or Google account secure; you are responsible for what happens under your account. You can delete your account at any time from the account dialog.

4. Pro subscription and payment

5. Cancelling

You can cancel at any time in billing, or through Link. Cancelling stops the next renewal; Pro, and export, continue until the end of the period you paid for, then stop. Deleting your account while a renewal is still due cancels the subscription at once, and the remaining paid time is forfeited.

Yearly plans after the first year. Once a yearly plan has renewed, you can also end it at one month's notice: write to hello@motionmockups.com from your account's email address. Pro then ends one month after your message, and we refund the whole months of the paid year left after that.

6. Refunds and your right of withdrawal

Apart from ending a yearly plan early after its first year (see section 5), there are no partial refunds when you cancel. On top of your legal rights, we refund a first purchase on request within 14 days if you have made fewer than 3 exports with it; write to hello@motionmockups.com.

If you are a consumer in the EU, EEA or UK, you have the right to withdraw from the purchase within 14 days without giving a reason. Pro starts as soon as you pay, because you ask for it to: you agree that the service begins during the withdrawal period. If you withdraw after that, you pay for the part of the service provided until you told us, and you lose the right to withdraw once the service has been fully provided. To withdraw, tell us clearly, for example by email. Stripe and Link may also apply the consumer rules of your country.

7. Licence for exports

What you may do with the videos and stills you export is set out in the Licence for exports, which is part of these terms. In short: commercial use, including client work, worldwide and without attribution, kept forever for everything you exported while subscribed.

8. Fair use of the service

You agree not to:

If you break these terms, we may suspend or close your account. When we do, we tell you why; if the breach is not yours to answer for, we refund the unused part of a paid period.

9. Your content

Your recordings and images stay yours. We claim no ownership of them and do not use them for anything but providing the service to you: we do not view them, share them, use them for advertising or use them to train AI models. To store them for you (see recording storage), you allow us, for as long as they are stored, to keep, copy and transmit them to you, through the providers named in the Privacy policy; this permission ends when the file is deleted. We look at a stored file only when you ask us to (for support), or when the law or a valid notice of illegal content requires it.

You are responsible for what you put into a mockup and store: you must have the rights to it, including the consent of people whose personal data it shows where the law requires that consent, and it must not be unlawful, such as material that infringes someone else's rights, child sexual abuse material or malware. You are also responsible for using device names and trademarks, such as those of Apple, in line with their owners' rules.

If you use the service for a business and what you store contains personal data for which you are the controller, we store it for you as your processor under the Data processing agreement, which is part of these terms and applies without anything to sign.

If you use the service for a business and someone else claims against us because of content you stored in breach of this section, you compensate us for the reasonable cost of that claim.

10. Reporting content

Anyone can report content stored in the service that they believe is illegal. Write to hello@motionmockups.com, in English or Czech, with:

We confirm that we received it, and a person, not an automated tool, reviews every report without undue delay; we do not scan stored files. We tell you what we decided and why.

If we remove or disable a stored file, or suspend or close an account, because of its content or a breach of these terms, we tell its owner what we did, the facts and the grounds for it, and how to challenge it: by replying to us, and we review the decision again; through an out-of-court dispute settlement body certified under the EU Digital Services Act; or in court.

The same address, in English or Czech, is our single point of contact for the authorities of EU member states, the European Commission and the European Board for Digital Services. If we learn of anything that suggests a crime threatening someone's life or safety, we inform the authorities.

11. Changes to the service and these terms

We improve the service over time and may add, change or remove scenes and features. We may change the limits of recording storage; we tell you at least 30 days before a lower limit applies to files you have already stored, so you can keep your own copies. If we stop offering Pro, we refund the unused part of a paid period. We may also end your use of the service without any breach on your part, by telling you at least 30 days before; we then refund the unused part of a paid period. We may change these terms; for a material change we tell you by email or in the app at least 30 days before it takes effect, and you may cancel before then. The version you agreed to is recorded with your account; after a change, the app asks you to accept the new version the next time you use it signed in. Earlier versions stay available at the foot of motionmockups.com/terms.

12. Liability

The service is provided as it is, with care but without a guarantee that it is free of errors or always available. To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. This limit does not apply to harm caused intentionally or by gross negligence, to injury to life or health, or where the law does not allow a limit, and it does not affect your statutory rights as a consumer.

If you are a consumer and the service does not work as these terms describe, you have the rights the law gives you for digital services: to have it put right, and if we cannot do that within a reasonable time, to a price reduction or to end the contract.

You keep the originals of what you store. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for the loss of a stored file, or for a delay in reaching it, when you could have used your original instead; the limits above apply to any other loss.

13. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by Czech law, and the courts of Prague have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country you live in and may bring a claim there. Consumers can also turn to the out-of-court dispute body for consumer disputes, the Czech Trade Inspection Authority (Česká obchodní inspekce, coi.cz).
